Chairman David Livingston
Committee on Appropriations
Arizona House of Representatives
Phoenix, AZ 85007

Dear Chairman Livingston,

Arizona for Better Medicaid supports HB2432 and urges the Appropriations Committee to pass HB2432.  This expenditure authority measure simply provides Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) the ability to fund contracted private sector health plans so that they can pay health care providers for delivering service to members with no additional impact to Arizona’s general fund.  Passing this legislation is incredibly important to our health system and we urge your support.

Arizona for Better Medicaid is a multi-stakeholder group of health care leaders, providers, health plans and others committed to building a better care delivery system that improves access, quality, outcomes, and affordability. We support a managed care – or fully integrated health plan option - for people with an intellectual or developmental disability, or I/DD.  We believe that AHCCCS has done a remarkable job managing physical healthcare and behavioral care for Arizona’s most vulnerable population.

We appreciate your service to our state and look forward to working with you to provide the best possible health care delivery system for them most vulnerable people in Arizona.  Thank you for your work on this legislation and we support the approval of this expenditure authority.  Please let us know if we can be of further assistance in your efforts.

Sincerely,

Bettina Nava, Executive Director
